Ashanti Douglas, also known as Ashanti was was born in Glen Cove New York United States on the 13th of October, 1980. She is a US singer songwriter. Ashanti started her career as a teenager, and was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. The same year, she was in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? She also appeared on the Fat Joe's hit song"What's Luv!" as well as the Ja Rules' track Always In Time, both of which were huge hits.
