Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area situated in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" area. The West Island has a lot of communities. Many who've never heard of it often confuse it with a separate, west-facing island. Many times, it is credited as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time in the city was brief. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. Her early ambition was to become a dancer, but a growth spurt meant that she literally outgrew her dance partner. In an article published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. When I surpassed the size of my male companion and stopped dancing, I quit. Brugel was one of many former dancers who turned to acting. The teacher she had at high school was the one who pushed her into the right direction. The teacher recommended that she try out for a school production. She auditioned and was cast as Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she was a theatre student and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in the year 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than 20 years and she's appeared in 60 different productions including big screen productions and smaller ones. The most well-known role she played was that of Rita (pictured beneath) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian in the season 1 cast of the show and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
